"Words born of devotion, lived experience, and an unbreakable faith — strung like pearls into poetry that sings."
This pen is mine, but the inspiration and energy behind it belong to some unfathomable divine force.
— Triveni Pandya, from Motidaan—
About the Author
Born into a family steeped in music and literature — her father Shri Jayendra Mishra, a Hindi Sahitya Ratna, taught at Vadodara's New Era Boys High School — Triveni Pandya grew up where songs, poetry, and spiritual satsang were as natural as breathing. The seeds of a literary life were sown before she could write her name.
She blossomed through academic excellence: First Class First in B.Ed. from S.N.D.T. College, and First Class First in M.A. (Gujarati) from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, earning the prestigious Mohanlal Hargovindas Kantawala Gold Medal. But her greatest classroom was life itself.
Over eighteen devoted years as a teacher at New Era Primary Girls' School, she became a mother-figure to hundreds of students — many of whom have gone on to distinguished careers in music and the arts. Among them is celebrated folk singer Sandhya Pathak Joshi, who set Triveni's devotional aarti to music.
In 2000, she founded Triveni Vidyamandir with her husband Shri Vatsalraj Pandya — a school where children's innocence became their greatest teacher. Later, as a lecturer at Shri Vasant Bal Adhyapan Mandir (2005–2018), she shaped a generation of primary school teachers. ઈ.સ.
In 2019, life dealt its hardest blow — a battle with cancer. She faced it with the same courage she had always written about, emerging renewed, her faith deepened, her pen more sure. Pilgrimages to Ambaji, Varanasi, Tirupati, Vrindavan, and Ashtavinayak followed — each a step closer to the Divine she had always felt near.
Now in her fourth book, Motidaan, she offers these accumulated pearls of devotion — prayers, garba, aartis, and bhajans — as a garland to the Goddess and to all who read with open hearts.
"Jay jay.. Uma maari maavdi Kuleshwari..
Preme utaarun taari aarti re.."
Dedicated to Kuldevi Maa Umakouleshwari
